What Ybug does

The endpoint lives at https://mcp.ybug.io/mcp and Ybug hosts it, so there is nothing to install or run locally. One command in the client, then you sign in with a Ybug account and pick a team. Authorization runs on OAuth 2.1, so no API key is involved. Only the docs repository is open source; the server itself belongs to the Ybug service.

The toolset splits in two. Read tools cover projects, their statuses and priorities, tags, members, the reports themselves with screenshots plus console output and network calls, and comments. Write tools change status, priority, type, assignee and tags, and add internal notes. Read access ships with BASIC; the triage side needs STARTUP or higher. MCP is not available on FREE.

Nothing gets deleted, settings stay untouched, public comments stay out of reach. The assistant works as you and inside a single team, so it only reaches projects you already see in the dashboard. Emails and phone numbers of reporters, their location, and user data your site feeds the widget never leave the service. Screenshot and video URLs stop working after roughly an hour. Report bodies are written by other people and may carry instructions, which is why the tools mark them as data — still, glance at what a coding agent intends to do before you approve. If auto-reply is on, moving a report to Resolved or Closed can message the reporter.

What it helps with

  • read incoming site bug reports without opening the dashboard
  • pull open high-priority bugs that have no assignee
  • group feedback by page
  • locate the likely cause in a repo from a report link
  • apply priorities and tags in bulk after review

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show the reports from the past week and group them by page
  • List open high-priority bugs with nobody assigned
  • Open this report link and point me to the likely cause in the repo

Questions about Ybug

How do I install Ybug in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add --transport http ybug https://mcp.ybug.io/mcp, then sign in to your Ybug account when prompted, choose a team and approve access.

What does the Ybug MCP server do?

It exposes Ybug reports to the assistant: search by status, priority, type, tags, assignee or date, read a full report with its logs and network calls, and on paid plans edit fields or leave internal notes.

Can the assistant delete a report or reply to the author?

No. The tools do not delete records, change settings or post public comments. The one exception is moving a report to Resolved or Closed, which can trigger your auto-reply if that feature is enabled.
