Novence — Claude Code MCP server: static site hosting
Static site hosting built for AI agents: your agent assembles the site, Novence hands it a place to ship it.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://api.novence.ai/mcpWhat Novence does
Novence runs as a hosted MCP server, so there is nothing to start on your machine. The agent talks to https://api.novence.ai/mcp over streamable HTTP and drives the site through tools: create a project, push files, deploy, run quality checks. The repository only holds the Claude install package and a stdio adapter for MCP directories — the hosting API itself lives elsewhere.
Auth is optional at the start. Call bootstrap(email), the session picks up an nv_ key, and later sessions need Authorization: Bearer nv_…. Claude keeps the key through the plugin userConfig; Cursor and shell clients persist it as NOVENCE_API_KEY. Leave the key field blank during setup — an empty interpolation counts as unauthenticated, so bootstrap still works before you fill it in.
Some tools are gated by plan. share_gate_emails only applies to *.novence.ai domains, while site_mcp, put_site_data, preview aliases and the webmaster brief require Pro or Scale. deploy rolls back the last 5 releases, and run_checks covers Lighthouse, accessibility and links. Not on MCP at all? Use the REST fallback: POST https://api.novence.ai/v1/demo first, then POST https://api.novence.ai/v1/bootstrap with your email.
What it helps with
- ship a static site and get a live URL right away
- upload project files in a batch and confirm them
- run Lighthouse and link checks before publishing
- point a custom domain at the site
- roll back a deploy that broke something
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a project and deploy this HTML into it
- Upload the files in
distand publish the site - Run
run_checksand show me what failed

Questions about Novence
How do I install Novence in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http novence https://api.novence.ai/mcp. Keep the API key field empty, call bootstrap(email), then paste the nv_ key into the plugin settings once the live URL appears and run /reload-plugins.
What does Novence do?
It gives your agent somewhere to publish static sites. Through MCP tools it creates projects, uploads files, deploys, runs checks and manages domains.
Do I need an API key to start?
No, auth is optional at first. Call bootstrap(email), the session adopts an nv_ key, and later sessions add the Authorization: Bearer nv_… header.
