Canli Fundamentals — Claude Code MCP server: SEC data as of a date
Feeds your AI assistant company fundamentals from SEC filings the way they stood when published, restatements included.
claude mcp add --transport http canli-fundamentals-mcp https://canlicapital.com/mcp/fundamentalsWhat Canli Fundamentals does
For any XBRL value the server answers three things: the first figure a company filed, the one in its newest report, and the number that was visible on a chosen date. Each value carries the filing it came from. Skip that distinction and a backtest on old data quietly uses figures nobody could see at the time.
Seven tools ship inside, all read-only. known_as_of returns the latest period filed on or before a date, flagging values that changed afterwards and measures a company stopped reporting. history follows one measure over time, restatements lists periods whose current value differs from the first report along with a cause, vintages walks every filing for a single period, and cross_section pulls one measure across several companies. A company can be named by ticker, CIK or name; a measure by a plain name such as revenue or net_income, and the server follows it across the tags used over the years.
Run it through npx or point your client at the hosted endpoint https://canlicapital.com/mcp/fundamentals. Compare fiscal years carefully: companies close their books on different dates, so check the end field before you line up two values.
What it helps with
- see which figures a company later restated
- pull a measure as it stood on a past date
- trace every filing that reported one period
- gather one metric across a list of companies
- find a company by ticker, CIK or name
Example prompts for the agent
- Show Toyota's annual revenue since 2015
- Which of Microsoft's annual numbers were restated?

What does Canli Fundamentals do?
It gives your assistant time-aware access to SEC company fundamentals: the first reported value, the latest one, and what was known on a given date.
How is it different from reading SEC data directly?
It keeps every version of a measure and marks restatements, including changes from stock splits and tag switches. So a decision about a past period rests on numbers available then.
