Browsentic — Claude Code MCP server: browser access and setup
Browsentic connects an agent CLI to a browser where you are already signed in. Use its side panel or an MCP client to work with open tabs.
claude mcp add browsentic -- npx -y browsenticWhat Browsentic does
Browsentic Bridge links a local browser to an agent CLI. Give the agent a task from the side panel, or connect an MCP client to control that same browser from a terminal. Several MCP clients can use one paired browser through a single Bridge.
You need Node.js 20 or newer, a supported browser, and an installed CLI agent that is signed in. Supported CLI names include claude, codex, and opencode. The MCP server communicates over stdio. The agent relies on your existing CLI login, so it cannot act through an account that the CLI is not signed into.
For Claude Code, register it with claude mcp add browsentic -- npx -y browsentic. The browsentic setup command configures the Bridge and browser extension. For MCP use, the project recommends a global npm install to avoid resolving a different Bridge each time the client starts. The extension is installed separately through the browser’s store.
What it helps with
- run an agent task in the current browser tab
- control a paired browser from a terminal through MCP
- share one paired browser across MCP clients
- use browser sessions already signed in to websites
Example prompts for the agent
- Use the connected browser to complete the task in the current tab.
- Find the requested details in my open browser tabs and summarize them.
- Check which browser sessions are connected, then use the relevant tab.
