bloomfilter — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
MCP server that lets autonomous agents search, buy domain names, and modify DNS entries via x402 micropayments.
claude mcp add --env BLOOMFILTER_PRIVATE_KEY=<BLOOMFILTER_PRIVATE_KEY> --env BLOOMFILTER_API_URL=<BLOOMFILTER_API_URL> --env BLOOMFILTER_NETWORK=<BLOOMFILTER_NETWORK> --transport stdio bloomfilter -- npx -y @bloomfilter/mcp-serverWhat bloomfilter does
This server connects AI environments to Bloomfilter via stdio JSON-RPC. Traditional setups demand dashboards, email signups, and credit cards. Bloomfilter swaps those out for HTTP-level crypto transactions. When an agent requests a paid action, the server catches an HTTP 402 code and signs the payment transaction directly.
Out of ten available tools, two work without any credentials: search_domains and get_pricing. Registration, renewals, and account inspection need a configured EVM wallet. DNS record operations cover A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, and other common records, charging $0.10 USDC per mutation.
Without funded USDC on Base inside the target wallet, paid actions will fail. The server needs Node.js 20 or newer if built locally, along with an EVM private key provided in BLOOMFILTER_PRIVATE_KEY.
What it helps with
- search available domains and review pricing across extensions
- purchase a domain programmatically without manual checkout
- configure DNS records like A, MX, or TXT
- update or wipe obsolete DNS records by identifier
Example prompts for the agent
- Check if my-new-app.xyz is available and show the registration cost
- Register domain name cool-agent.dev using the connected wallet
- Add a CNAME record pointing app.example.com to my-cluster.net

Questions about bloomfilter
How to install bloomfilter in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add bloomfilter -e BLOOMFILTER_PRIVATE_KEY=<BLOOMFILTER_PRIVATE_KEY> -- npx -y @bloomfilter/mcp-server. Replace the placeholder with your actual hex EVM private key.
What does bloomfilter do?
It gives coding agents access to domain search, registration, and DNS records. Transactions are settled using USDC on Base.
Can I run this server without an EVM private key?
Yes, but only for search_domains and get_pricing. Registering domains or mutating DNS records requires BLOOMFILTER_PRIVATE_KEY and USDC funds.
