Bitview — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Provides read-only Bitcoin blockchain and mempool metrics without an API key. Helpful when inspecting on-chain statistics directly in your workspace.
claude mcp add --transport http bitview https://mcp.bitview.space/What Bitview does
bitview_mcp serves as an adapter for the Bitview REST API without storing local state. Tool calls translate into standard GET requests directed to the public endpoint. You do not need an account or an API token to query https://mcp.bitview.space/. No credentials are required.
The server keeps no cache and retains no sessions. Traffic relies on upstream Cloudflare caching instead. If you compile and run the binary locally, passing --api, --url, and --name is strictly required.
Every tool call is strictly read-only, so broadcasting transactions or altering on-chain data is impossible. The tool list is compiled directly from the OpenAPI manifest.
What it helps with
- inspect current Bitcoin mempool congestion
- pull network difficulty and mining statistics
- query on-chain analytics without an API key
- track market metrics across the Bitcoin blockchain
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the current Bitcoin mempool fee rates and backlog size.
- What are the latest Bitcoin mining difficulty and network stats?
- Retrieve on-chain market metrics using Bitview.
