What alphadesk-terminal does

This server lets an agent read the market instead of guessing at it: quotes and charts, news feeds, SEC EDGAR documents, financial statements, insider activity, earnings calendars, options and crypto. It trades nothing, holds nothing and writes no summaries. You ask questions in your own agent and it pulls the records through MCP tools.

SEC EDGAR and Treasury data are public. Everything else needs keys from your own market-data and news providers, which you supply. Install is a single uvx line, with no account and no database. Without vendor keys the paid feeds stay empty, so that is the one thing to line up first.

Read-only is the whole design. If you want an agent to place orders or book trades, this is the wrong tool and no setting changes that.

What it helps with

  • pull a ticker's quote and chart inside an agent chat
  • grab a company's latest filing from SEC EDGAR
  • check insider transactions for a stock
  • list earnings dates for the coming week
  • inspect an options chain by expiry

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show me NVDA quotes and a chart for the last month.
  • Find the latest 10-K for this company on SEC EDGAR and pull the annual revenue.
  • Which earnings reports land next week for my watchlist?

What does alphadesk-terminal do?

It exposes market data, news, SEC filings and financial statements to an agent as MCP tools. Every tool is read-only, so nothing trades or writes.

Do I need my own API keys?

Not for SEC EDGAR and US Treasury data. Quotes, news and the other feeds need keys from your data providers, and you enter them yourself.
