gws-meet — Claude skill: Google Meet conferences from the CLI
This skill gives your agent Google Meet API access through the gws CLI: create meeting spaces, list conference records, pull transcripts.
npx skills add googleworkspace/cli --skill gws-meet -a claude-codeWhat gws-meet does
The skill wraps gws meet [flags]. Two resource groups are covered. spaces handles creating a meeting space, reading and patching its details, and ending an active conference. conferenceRecords fetches a record by conference ID or lists records, and reaches into participants, recordings, smart notes and transcripts.
Before calling a method, the agent inspects it. gws meet --help lists resources and methods; gws schema meet.. shows required params, types and defaults. Those flags go into --params and --json.
You need the gws binary on PATH and auth set up — the skill points at ../gws-shared/SKILL.md for authentication, global flags and security rules. If that file is missing, gws generate-skills creates it. Worth installing if you want meeting data reachable from the terminal or from an agent; for the occasional manual call, the Meet web UI is enough.
What it helps with
- create a meeting space and get its link
- end an active conference by ID
- list conference records
- pull a transcript and smart notes from a past meeting
- check who joined a specific conference record
Example prompts for the agent
- create a Google Meet space and show me the link
- list conference records from today
- get the transcript for this conference ID

Before calling any API method, inspect it:
```bash
# Browse resources and methods
gws schema meet.<resource>.<method>
```
Use `gws schema` output to build your `--params` and `--json` flags.
