gws-keep — Claude skill: manage Google Keep notes from the CLI
This skill wires Google Keep into your agent: create, read, list and delete notes, plus download attachments through the gws CLI.
npx skills add googleworkspace/cli --skill gws-keep -a claude-codeWhat gws-keep does
The skill maps Google Keep onto gws keep [flags]. Two resources are covered: notes and media. You get create, get, list and delete for notes, and a download call for attachments. Listing is paged — the response carries a next_page_token that you copy into the next request as page_token.
Before calling anything, the skill tells the agent to inspect the method: gws keep --help for the resource list, gws schema keep.. for required params and types. Those flags feed --params and --json. Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone, and the caller needs the OWNER role on the note; collaborators lose access once it's gone.
You need the gws binary installed and the ../gws-shared/SKILL.md file, which holds auth, global flags and security rules. Missing it? Run gws generate-skills. Worth installing if Keep is where your notes live and you want the agent touching them. For editing one note by hand, the web UI is faster.
What it helps with
- create a Google Keep note without leaving the terminal
- page through a long list of notes
- download an attachment from a note
- delete a note you own
- check a method's schema before calling it
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a Keep note titled "Sprint retro"
- List my Keep notes and show the first page
- Download the attachment on that note

> **PREREQUISITE:** Read `../gws-shared/SKILL.md` for auth, global flags, and security rules. If missing, run `gws generate-skills` to create it.
```bash
gws keep <resource> <method> [flags]
## API Resources
### media
- `download` — Gets an attachment. To download attachment media via REST requires the alt=media query parameter. Returns a 400 bad request error if attachment media is not available in the requested MIME type.
### notes
- `create` — Creates a new note.
- `delete` — Deletes a note. Caller must have the `OWNER` role on the note to delete. Deleting a note removes the resource immediately and cannot be undone. Any collaborators will lose access to the note.
- `get` — Gets a note.
- `list` — Lists notes. Every list call returns a page of results with `page_size` as the upper bound of returned items. A `page_size` of zero allows the server to choose the upper bound. The ListNotesResponse contains at most `page_size` entries. If there are more things left to list, it provides a `next_page_token` value. (Page tokens are opaque values.) To get the next page of results, copy the result's `next_page_token` into the next request's `page_token`.
- `permissions` — Operations on the 'permissions' resource
## Discovering Commands
Before calling any API method, inspect it:
```bash
# Browse resources and methods
gws keep --help
# Inspect a method's required params, types, and defaults
gws schema keep.<resource>.<method>
```
Use `gws schema` output to build your `--params` and `--json` flags.
