gws-gmail-reply-all — Claude skill: reply-all in Gmail
A skill that sends a reply to every recipient of a Gmail message. Threading is handled for you, so no manual header work.
npx skills add googleworkspace/cli --skill gws-gmail-reply-all -a claude-codeWhat gws-gmail-reply-all does
The skill wraps the gws gmail +reply-all command. You pass --message-id and the reply text, and it builds the recipient list from the original message: sender, To and CC. Threading stays intact because Gmail gets the right headers.
The flags cover everyday mail. --cc and --bcc add new recipients, --remove drops people from the outgoing reply, --attach adds files. Use --html for markup and --draft to review before sending. The command fails when no To recipient is left after exclusions and --to additions.
Read ../gws-shared/SKILL.md first for auth and global flags. If it is missing, run gws generate-skills. Worth installing if you handle mail from a terminal or an agent. If Gmail in the browser already works for you, skip it.
What it helps with
- reply to every recipient without retyping addresses
- keep the thread when replying from the command line
- add someone to CC without dropping the rest
- attach a file to a reply
- save a reply as a draft before sending
Example prompts for the agent
- Reply all to message 18f1a2b3c4d with 'Sounds good to me!'
- Send a reply-all and add [email protected] to CC
- Save the reply-all as a draft with the body 'Draft reply'

## Tips
- Replies to the sender and all original To/CC recipients.
- Use --to to add extra recipients to the To field.
- Use --cc to add new CC recipients.
- Use --bcc for recipients who should not be visible to others.
- Use --remove to exclude recipients from the outgoing reply, including the sender or Reply-To target.
- The command fails if no To recipient remains after exclusions and --to additions.
- Use -a/--attach to add file attachments. Can be specified multiple times.
- With --html, the quoted block uses Gmail's gmail_quote CSS classes and preserves HTML formatting. Use fragment tags (<p>, <b>, <a>, etc.) — no <html>/<body> wrapper needed.
- With --html, inline images in the quoted message are preserved via cid: references.
- Use --draft to save the reply as a draft instead of sending it immediately.
