What Yab, Yet Another Browser does

This server connects any MCP client to Yab, a WebKit browser built for macOS. The agent creates off-screen tabs to read page contents, trigger clicks, and complete forms. It reuses your existing logins and cookies. When the browser is shut, the initial command starts it hidden in the background, and it terminates automatically after thirty minutes without tasks.

Passwords filled by the browser remain hidden from the agent. Sensitive actions like sending payments or deleting entries halt until you click approval in Yab. Operating this tool requires macOS 15.4 or later, and agents must be permitted in Yab preferences before requests will succeed.

What it helps with

  • browse authenticated services using local cookies and accounts
  • submit online forms without sharing stored credentials with the model
  • automate browser actions locally without exposing Chrome debugging ports
  • run web research tasks inside hidden background tabs

Example prompts for the agent

  • Open the internal dashboard and summarize the recent table entries
  • Fill out the booking form using my saved personal profile
  • Check Friday reservation slots on the restaurant portal
