What us-congress-trades does

The server returns Periodic Transaction Reports, one row per trade. A row carries the lawmaker's name and chamber, state and district, the asset and its ticker, the transaction type, the reported amount bracket, transaction and notification dates, ownership, and filing IDs. Records are normalised from official House and Senate STOCK Act filings.

You can narrow by name, ticker, a single date or a range. Every parameter is optional, so an empty run just returns the latest trades. Max_Results caps a run between 1 and 1000 rows.

It is hosted on Apify, so an Apify account and API key are required. Billing covers each run plus every transaction returned; there is no monthly rental. Amounts stay as the brackets lawmakers filed, so do not expect exact figures.

What it helps with

  • pull every trade one lawmaker disclosed in a year
  • find which members traded a given ticker
  • export purchases and sales across a date window
  • get structured JSON instead of parsing filing PDFs
  • trace a trade back to its source document by Filing ID

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show Nancy Pelosi's latest trades from 2024
  • Which members of Congress traded NVDA? Return up to 50 rows
  • Collect all disclosed transactions between 2024-01-01 and 2024-06-30
