What BlindPay does

BlindPay ships an official MCP server for its stablecoin payment API. Once connected, the assistant can register receivers — people or companies — send payouts and take payins across several blockchains, pull quotes and exchange rates, open virtual accounts and wallets, and manage webhooks and API keys. Which of those operations are available depends on the profile you pick.

There are two ways in. The remote server at https://mcp.blindpay.com/mcp speaks Streamable HTTP and signs you in with OAuth 2.1 against your BlindPay account, so no API key is involved and the token carries only the rights of your role on the chosen instance. The local route runs npx -y @blindpay/mcp, needs Node.js and npm installed, and reads BLINDPAY_API_KEY plus BLINDPAY_INSTANCE_ID from the environment. Both expose the same tools and the webhook event resource blindpay://webhooks/events.

BLINDPAY_MCP_PROFILE controls the tool surface. With full every public API operation is on the table, payouts and transfers included. Switch to readonly and only GET calls remain — status, balances, history — which means the wallet sign-message tool, the webhook secret tool and the webhook portal-access tool are gone, and trace_id is stripped from JSON responses. Worth knowing if you would rather the agent never touch money movement. Tools carry MCP annotations (readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint) derived from their HTTP verb, so the client can decide when to ask you to confirm.

What it helps with

  • register a business receiver with its payout details
  • send a stablecoin payout across several blockchains
  • check a quote and FX rate before moving funds
  • open a virtual account to collect payins
  • subscribe to payment events through webhooks

Example prompts for the agent

  • List the receivers and their current status
  • Create a business receiver and attach payout details
  • Get a quote for a transfer and show me the exchange rate

Questions about BlindPay

How do I install BlindPay in Claude Code?

For the remote server with OAuth run claude mcp add --transport http blindpay https://mcp.blindpay.com/mcp. For the local server with an API key run `claude mcp add --env BLINDPAY_API_KEY=<BLINDPAY_API_KEY> --env BLINDPAY_INSTANCE_ID=<BLINDPAY_INSTANCE_ID> --env BLINDPAY_MCP_PROFILE=<BLINDPAY_MCP_PROFILE> --transport stdio blindpay -- npx -y @blindpay/mcp`.

What does BlindPay do?

It gives an AI assistant access to BlindPay's payment infrastructure: receivers, payouts and payins, quotes with FX rates, virtual accounts and wallets, webhooks and API keys.

How does the readonly profile differ from full?

readonly keeps only GET operations such as status, balances and history. The wallet sign-message tool, the webhook secret tool and the webhook portal-access tool are left out, and trace_id disappears from responses.
