What Stockbit MCP does

The server signs in to your Stockbit account and exposes market data to the agent: quotes, orderbook, trade tape, movers, trading hours. Other tool families cover broker accumulation and distribution, technical analysis with indicators, patterns and backtests, fundamentals with insiders and corporate actions, plus news and Stockbit posts.

Portfolio tools read positions, cash and order history and nothing else. No real order can leave this build — the buy, sell, amend, cancel and e-IPO routes were stripped out, and old live settings fail closed with no switch back. Simulation sits in two separate places: Stockbit's own virtual account and a local paper ledger turned on with --paper. The portfolio tool always reads the real brokerage account, even in paper mode.

You need Node.js 22+ and a Chromium-family browser, since login and interactive chart drawing both run through it. Sign-in happens on Stockbit's own page; the assistant never asks for your password or OTP, and credentials land in the OS keychain or an encrypted file. Reading the real portfolio takes a separate trading-login, where the PIN is typed locally and never stored. The upstream API is private and can shift, so individual tools do break.

What it helps with

  • pull quotes and orderbook for IDX tickers
  • read broker accumulation and distribution
  • backtest a strategy against another one
  • check portfolio holdings and order history without trading rights
  • draw support and resistance on a chart and save the layout

Example prompts for the agent

  • Show quotes and orderbook for BBRI
  • Compare broker flow between BBRI and TLKM
  • Open the BBRI chart, mark support and resistance, then screenshot it

Questions about Stockbit MCP

How do I install Stockbit MCP in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add stockbit-mcp -- npx -y stockbit-mcp. For tool profiles and environment variables use the longer form: `claude mcp add --env STOCKBIT_TOOLS=<STOCKBIT_TOOLS> --env STOCKBIT_TRADING=<STOCKBIT_TRADING> --env STOCKBIT_NO_BROWSER=<STOCKBIT_NO_BROWSER> --env STOCKBIT_STORE_DIR=<STOCKBIT_STORE_DIR> --transport stdio stockbit-mcp -- npx -y stockbit-mcp`.

What does Stockbit MCP do?

It feeds your agent Indonesian exchange data from your Stockbit account: quotes, bandarmology, analysis, charts, portfolio reads and simulations. It cannot place a real trade.

Can it buy or sell stocks for me?

No. Real order routes and e-IPO subscription were removed from this build, and deposits or withdrawals are unsupported. Simulated orders go through Stockbit's virtual account or the local paper ledger.
