quicken-mac-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: installation
Query Quicken For Mac accounts, transactions, spending, and investments through read-only MCP tools. Useful when you want an AI client to inspect your financial data.
claude mcp add --env QUICKEN_DB_PATH=<QUICKEN_DB_PATH> --transport stdio quicken-mac-mcp -- npx -y quicken-mac-mcpWhat quicken-mac-mcp does
The server exposes eight tools for Quicken data, including account listings, transaction searches, category spending summaries, and portfolio holdings. Its raw_query tool runs SELECT queries with a 500-row cap. Quicken stores the data in a SQLite database inside a .quicken bundle.
Quicken For Mac must be running. When the app is closed, its database is encrypted and cannot be read. The server does not change financial records. If ~/Documents contains multiple .quicken bundles, set QUICKEN_DB_PATH to select the right database; automatic detection only works when there is exactly one bundle.
The MCP server works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed. To add it in Claude Code, run the command below. It registers the server as quicken-mac-mcp.
What it helps with
