mcp · shumi-ai — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Supplies crypto market signals, funding metrics, narrative tracking, and delta-neutral pair data to AI assistants. Requires a Shumi API token.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.shumi.ai/mcpWhat mcp does
This server exposes Shumi market intelligence directly to MCP-compatible coding agents. Every tool operates strictly in read-only mode, letting models inspect market regimes, historical metrics, token risk scores, unlock schedules, and wallet distributions without executing trades. Real-world assets like commodities, foreign exchange, or equities traded on DEX perps are handled by distinct calls: standard coin tools intentionally skip them.
The toolset combines structured endpoints like get_coin_risk or get_funding_momentum with the flexible ask_shumi interface. Queries that return collections accept top and fields options, which prevents the agent from dumping large arrays into the context window.
You can run it locally with stdio via npx or point directly to the remote URL at https://mcp.shumi.ai/mcp. Without a valid SHUMI_TOKEN, calls return an AUTH_REQUIRED status. When configuring team access via static headers, everyone shares a single organisation quota.
What it helps with
- inspect funding momentum and derivatives alert data
- retrieve risk scores and sentiment for specific tokens
- scan for delta-neutral pair trading opportunities
- track upcoming token unlock dates and events
- check RWA perpetual contract quotes from DEX platforms
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
get_coin_riskfor SOL and summarize current safety indicators. - Check delta-neutral trading opportunities with
get_pair_suggestions. - Ask
ask_shumito break down the active market regime and key narratives.

Questions about mcp
How to install mcp in Claude Code?
Add the remote HTTP endpoint by running claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.shumi.ai/mcp. For local stdio execution, run claude mcp add --env SHUMI_TOKEN=<SHUMI_TOKEN> --env SHUMI_API_URL=<SHUMI_API_URL> --transport stdio shumi-ai-mcp -- npx -y @shumi-ai/mcp.
What does the mcp server do?
It gives agents read-only access to Shumi trading intelligence, covering token sentiment, unlock calendars, funding alerts, and DEX real-world assets.
Why are equities and commodities separated from crypto tokens?
Assets like stocks and indices trade as builder DEX perps and rely on list_rwa_assets or get_rwa_asset, because regular coin endpoints treat them as non-existent.
