Canli Markets — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects AI coding assistants to primary financial filings, central bank rates and market data without mandatory API keys. Useful for rigorous equity research and fact-checking.
claude mcp add --env SEC_USER_AGENT=<SEC_USER_AGENT> --env ALPACA_API_KEY_ID=<ALPACA_API_KEY_ID> --env ALPACA_API_SECRET_KEY=<ALPACA_API_SECRET_KEY> --env TIINGO_API_KEY=<TIINGO_API_KEY> --transport stdio mcp-markets -- npx -y canli-markets-mcpWhat Canli Markets does
Requests run locally straight to regulatory archives and monetary authorities, covering EDGAR, ESEF reports, the Federal Reserve, the Bank of England and the ECB. The server attaches the source link and a SHA-256 hash of the received bytes to every output. Anyone can verify the exact document later.
Tooling handles broad US equity scans, table parsing across annual filings and revision tracking between filing versions. Obvious filing typos, such as million-dollar sums mislabeled as billions, get filtered out automatically. The server also pulls overnight policy benchmarks, prediction contracts on Kalshi or Polymarket, and DeFi metrics from DefiLlama.
Regulatory compliance requires setting SEC_USER_AGENT with a personal contact email. Without it, EDGAR blocks access. Stock and asset quotes pull keyless price data from Yahoo Finance charts intended for non-commercial use. Users can switch this off with CANLI_KEYLESS_PRICES=0 and supply custom credentials for Alpaca or Tiingo.
What it helps with
- cross-check financial figures in a drafted report against filed numbers
- trace language updates across consecutive 10-K risk disclosures
- monitor central bank interest rates and overnight funding benchmarks
- pull protocol revenue and total value locked from DeFi platforms
- track event probabilities across Kalshi and Polymarket contracts
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the revenue figures in this paragraph using verify_claims
- Show how the risk factors changed in Apple's latest 10-K filing
- Query prediction market odds for an upcoming interest rate cut
