sevdesk-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: features, setup
Connects an MCP client to sevDesk for invoices, vouchers, bank matching, API calls, and bookkeeping checks.
claude mcp add --env SEVDESK_API_TOKEN=<SEVDESK_API_TOKEN> --env SEVDESK_READ_ONLY=<SEVDESK_READ_ONLY> --env SEVDESK_RATE_LIMIT=<SEVDESK_RATE_LIMIT> --transport stdio sevdesk-mcp -- npx -y sevdesk-mcpWhat sevdesk-mcp does
sevdesk-mcp exposes sevDesk through an MCP interface. Its 24 tools cover invoice and voucher records, contacts, transactions, PDF retrieval, VAT checks, duplicate detection, subscription gaps, and receipt matching. A searchable operation catalogue provides access to all 151 sevDesk API operations without adding 151 separate tools to the client.
You need Node.js ≥ 22, a sevDesk account, an API token, and an MCP client. The server can start in read-only mode through SEVDESK_READ_ONLY; write access is enabled with false, while write tools accept dryRun. Receipt-folder comparison uses SEVDESK_RECEIPT_DIRS. The server cannot connect to sevDesk without SEVDESK_API_TOKEN.
What it helps with
- audit VAT entries for reverse-charge issues
- match bank transactions with booked vouchers
- find overdue or never-sent invoices
- compare local receipt PDFs with sevDesk records
- call a sevDesk API operation from its catalogue
Example prompts for the agent
- Run a VAT audit for this year and explain each high-severity finding.
- Which bank payments still have no receipt?
- Create a draft invoice for contact 1009 for 3 days of consulting at 800 €.
