What Remembra Relay does

When a session ends, Relay gathers the branch, commits, changed files, and unpushed commits from Git. For Claude Code and Codex, it also reads commands and test runs from the local session transcript. Matching secrets are removed before transmission, and the transcript stays on your machine.

At the next session, the agent receives a short brief covering completed work, failures, and a next step. Browse the handoff history with remembra-relay trail or the Trail page in the dashboard. Setup requires a REMEMBRA_API_KEY and MCP configuration. Codex runs hooks only after you approve them; a changed hook command needs approval again.

The brief treats recorded details as untrusted data. Facts submitted by an agent through close_session are marked as unverified, and Relay does not validate their origin. Keep that distinction in mind when relying on an agent-reported handoff.

What it helps with

  • carry Git state into the next agent session
  • share test runs from Claude Code or Codex transcripts
  • flag changed files and commits that have not been pushed
  • review the handoff sequence across sessions

Example prompts for the agent

  • Prepare a brief from the previous session with Remembra Relay before continuing the project.
  • Close this session and pass the next agent the commit and test facts.
  • Show the project handoff history with remembra-relay trail.
