skillfed-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: setup
Finds vetted agent skills from an abstract task description while keeping your plan, files, and output on the local machine.
claude mcp add --env SKILLFED_ENDPOINT=<SKILLFED_ENDPOINT> --transport stdio skillfed-mcp -- npx -y skillfed-mcpWhat skillfed-mcp does
skillfed-mcp exposes skill discovery through MCP. The agent turns a request into abstract wishes: a capability description, paraphrases, keywords, and a short capability sketch. The server matches those wishes against a catalog of vetted skills.
The returned skills are read as reference notes rather than executed code. An agent can inspect several matches and install one only when needed. Your plan, files, and output stay on the machine; only the abstract wishes cross the boundary. The second Claude Code setup requires SKILLFED_ENDPOINT through --env. The server runs with npx -y skillfed-mcp.
What it helps with
- find skills for an abstract task
- compare several catalog matches
- search current practice through MCP
- keep project data on the local machine
Example prompts for the agent
- Run
/skillfedto find skills for an API migration. - Use
/skillfedto locate skills for a project security review. - Ask
/skillfedto find several skills for launching an open-source developer tool.
