What Lumen does

Its MCP tools handle sprite operations, asset inspection, palettes, text, and style presets. Other capabilities include dream-animation automation, QA gates, and export targets such as PNG sheets, WASM-4, TIC-80, and VoidSprite. File paths stay within the project root.

Lumen builds named converter chains around code-first records that can produce 2D or 3D output. The same record yields the same result across platforms. Before a tool runs, its call is checked against lumen-policy.toml; policy decisions can be replayed. Live interop checks found mismatches between Lumen’s assumptions and real Aseprite and Bevy behavior, so those integrations need attention during setup.

What it helps with

  • convert sprites between formats
  • inspect project assets and palettes
  • export sprite sheets as PNG
  • automate dream-animation work
  • block tool calls that violate project policy

Example prompts for the agent

  • Inspect the project sprites and report any issues.
  • Create a palette for this set of images.
  • Export the sprites as PNG sheets.

What does Lumen do?

It offers MCP tools for working with and checking 2D and 3D assets, plus converting game-related formats.
