What Padlet does

The server sits at https://mcp.padlet.com/ and speaks streamable HTTP. Whatever you can open or change in Padlet, the agent can too — and nothing beyond that, since every call runs as the signed-in user.

There is no API key. On the first connection your client opens a Padlet sign-in page in the browser and you approve the request; the session sticks, so you sign in once. Skip that step and the server hands over no tools at all.

Tools come in sets. The plain URL serves 49 of them, or 73 for owners, admins and teachers in a Padlet for Schools or Teams library. Clients that cap how many tools a model sees can drop sets with ?toolsets=core or ?toolsets=core,board_admin. A read-only endpoint lives at https://mcp.padlet.com/read-only with five tools that only search and read.

What it helps with

  • build a board with sections for drafts and feedback
  • read an exit-ticket board and sum up what students struggled with
  • comment on every post in a section
  • freeze a board so nobody can post again
  • export a board as PDF

Example prompts for the agent

  • Create a padlet called Sprint 12 with sections for Backlog, In Progress and Done
  • Read my Q3 retro board and group the posts by theme

Questions about Padlet

How do I install Padlet in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add --transport http padlet https://mcp.padlet.com/. The first connection opens a Padlet sign-in page in your browser.

What does the Padlet MCP server do?

It lets an agent work with your Padlet boards: search and read them, create boards and posts, edit sections, add comments, adjust appearance and access settings, and export to PDF.

Do I need an API key?

No. Sign-in is OAuth only, under your own Padlet account, so the server cannot be added where only API keys are accepted.
