Open Markets — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
This MCP server gives agents access to market data, SEC filings, macroeconomic indicators, and portfolio analytics. Use it to investigate securities or assess portfolio risk.
claude mcp add openmarkets -- uvx openmarketsWhat Open Markets does
Open Markets connects an agent to data on equities, bonds, commodities, currencies, crypto, and funds. It also provides SEC EDGAR filings, FRED economic indicators, and portfolio analysis, including VaR/CVaR calculations and SMA/RSI strategy backtests.
Tools are grouped into profiles such as equities, macro, portfolio, and sec. The full profile covers every service and is the default. Claude Code runs the server with uvx, so that command must be available for this setup.
The server spans several kinds of financial data. Specify a ticker, time period, and data type in your request to make the intended lookup clear. For a narrower set of tools, choose a matching profile.
