mcp · nestr-dev — Claude Code MCP server: Nestr in your workspace
Wires an AI assistant into a Nestr workspace: tasks, projects, roles, circles and discussions. Useful when a team runs on Holacracy or Sociocracy.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.nestr.io/mcpWhat mcp does
The server exposes Nestr to an assistant over Model Context Protocol. Its tools cover search across tasks, projects and roles, creating and editing nests, comments, org structure, tensions and workspace metrics. A separate personal group — inbox, daily plan, personal labels — only works with OAuth.
Two ways to run it. Remote: claude mcp add --transport http nestr-dev-mcp https://mcp.nestr.io/mcp, then /mcp and the Authenticate button. Local: npx -y @nestr/mcp with NESTR_API_KEY set in the environment. The key comes from the workspace settings in Nestr, under integrations.
One catch: adding a member through the API needs a verified domain, while inviting someone from the app does not. Without a verified domain the provisioning tool fails, and people have to be invited by hand.
What it helps with
- pull up tasks and projects by keyword from the chat
- create a nest and place it under a circle
- check who owns customer support
- log a tension and build out its proposal parts
- read workspace metrics over a period
Example prompts for the agent
- Which workspaces can I access?
- Search for tasks related to marketing
- Create a project called Q1 Planning and add a comment
