OpusClip · mindstone — Claude Code MCP server: clips and setup
This MCP server connects OpusClip to an agent for turning long videos into clips, handling projects, and sending social posts.
claude mcp add --env OPUS_API_KEY=<OPUS_API_KEY> --env OPUS_API_TIMEOUT_MS=<OPUS_API_TIMEOUT_MS> --env OPUS_UPLOAD_TIMEOUT_MS=<OPUS_UPLOAD_TIMEOUT_MS> --env OPUS_BRIDGE_TIMEOUT_MS=<OPUS_BRIDGE_TIMEOUT_MS> --env MCP_WORKSPACE_PATH=<MCP_WORKSPACE_PATH> --transport stdio opus-video-clip -- npx -y @mindstone/mcp-server-opus-video-clipWhat OpusClip does
OpusClip connects an MCP host to the OpusClip API. An agent can submit a long-form video URL, upload a local video, inspect project status and clips, download an MP4, create a censor job, or work with clip collections.
The server exposes 22 tools covering projects, brand templates, collections, and social publishing. It can prepare platform-specific copy, publish a clip to a connected account, or schedule that post. The setup needs Node.js 20+, npm, and an OpusClip API key in OPUS_API_KEY.
Local video reads are restricted to MCP_WORKSPACE_PATH, or to the system temporary directory when that variable is unset. Download targets use the same sandbox; paths that escape it through .. or symlinks are rejected. Node.js 20+ is required for the server to start.
What it helps with
- turn a long video into short clips
- upload a local video and create a project
- check project status and retrieve generated clips
- group clips into a collection and export it
- schedule a clip for a connected social account
Example prompts for the agent
- Upload the video from the workspace to OpusClip and create a clipping project.
- Show the project status and list the clips it produced.
- Create platform-specific copy for this clip and schedule the post on a connected account.
