mcp-stripe-acp — MCP server for Stripe ACP: agent checkout and billing
Wires Stripe into your agent: ACP checkout, payment links, invoices, subscriptions and the product catalog. Useful when the agent has to build a cart or finish a purchase.
claude mcp add mcp-stripe-acp -e STRIPE_API_KEY=<STRIPE_API_KEY> -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-stripe-acpWhat mcp-stripe-acp does
The server exposes 24 tools to the agent. Five of them belong to the ACP protocol: create_checkout, get_checkout, update_checkout, complete_checkout, cancel_checkout. The rest are plain Stripe operations — customers, products, prices, invoices, subscriptions, coupons, refunds, disputes and account balance.
A purchase runs as a sequence. The agent opens a session with items and buyer details, the seller replies with pricing and shipping choices, then the agent picks delivery and fixes the address. At the ready_for_payment stage it hands over a payment token and the order goes through.
You need a Stripe secret key in STRIPE_API_KEY; the README suggests a test key for development. ACP calls also read STRIPE_ACP_BASE, the seller endpoint URL — leave it out and only the regular Stripe tools work. The package runs through npx and is registered in claude_desktop_config.json, .cursor/mcp.json or .vscode/mcp.json.
What it helps with
- open an ACP checkout session with items and buyer info
- walk a checkout to payment with shipping picked and a token submitted
- draft an invoice for a customer and finalize it
- start a subscription on a recurring price or cancel one
- review disputes and refunds on past payments
Example prompts for the agent
- Create an ACP checkout for the two items in the cart and list the shipping options
- Update the checkout with standard shipping and the address on file for this customer
- Draft an invoice for this customer and add a line item for the consultation

Questions about mcp-stripe-acp
How do I install mcp-stripe-acp in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add mcp-stripe-acp -e STRIPE_API_KEY=<STRIPE_API_KEY> -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-stripe-acp. The README also shows a stdio variant: claude mcp add --env STRIPE_API_KEY=<STRIPE_API_KEY> --transport stdio stripe-acp -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-stripe-acp.
What does mcp-stripe-acp do?
It gives the agent Stripe tools, both ACP checkout steps and everyday calls like customers, products, invoices and subscriptions. A purchase moves from session creation to a submitted payment token.
What is needed for the ACP tools?
STRIPE_ACP_BASE pointing at the seller's ACP endpoint. The Stripe key goes in STRIPE_API_KEY, and a test sk_test_... key works during development.
