MCP Registry Monitor — Claude Code MCP server: watch the MCP registry
Polls the official MCP registry and alerts you to new servers, version changes and removals through Discord, Slack, email or a webhook.
Open on GitHubWhat MCP Registry Monitor does
The poller hits registry.modelcontextprotocol.io on an interval you set, diffs each snapshot against the previous one and reports additions, version bumps and servers that dropped out. Every change is written to a timestamped history, so you can look up exactly when something left the registry.
Subscriptions narrow results by namespace, keyword or server pattern. Delivery goes to Discord, Slack, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, generic webhooks, RSS/Atom feeds or digest email on an immediate, hourly, daily or weekly schedule. You manage it from a REST API or the React dashboard. A CLI covers one-off checks: mcp-notify-cli changes --since 24h.
The quickest route is Docker: docker compose up -d starts the stack and the dashboard answers on http://localhost:8080. Building from source needs Go 1.22+, and snapshots live in PostgreSQL 15+ — without that database the diffing has nothing to compare. Redis 7+ is optional and serves as a cache.
What it helps with
- spot a newly published server in the MCP registry
- track version bumps for one specific server
- get alerts for servers under your own namespace
- review the last day of registry changes
- feed registry updates into your own integrations over a webhook
Example prompts for the agent
- Bring the stack up with
docker compose up -dand show me what the poller logs - Create a subscription for the keywords
defiandethereumthat posts to Discord - Run
mcp-notify-cli changes --since 24hand tell me what appeared in the registry

Questions about MCP Registry Monitor
How do I install MCP Registry Monitor in Claude Code?
There is no Claude install path for it. Run the project yourself: clone nirholas/mcp-notify, copy .env.example to .env, fill in the settings and run docker compose up -d.
What does MCP Registry Monitor do?
It watches the official MCP registry, detects new servers, updates and removals, then delivers notifications to the channels you pick. Each change is kept in a history log.
What do I need to run it?
Docker and Docker Compose cover the containerized setup. A source build wants Go 1.22+ and PostgreSQL 15+, with Redis 7+ optional for caching.
