MarketTrace Crypto MCP — Claude Code MCP server: setup
Connect an AI coding agent to cross-exchange crypto perpetuals data, including funding, open interest, liquidations, and order-book activity.
claude mcp add --transport http agent-feed https://api.markettrace.ai/mcpWhat MarketTrace Crypto MCP does
MarketTrace Crypto MCP serves market data for BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, DOGE, HYPE, ZEC, and ENA across Binance, Bybit, OKX, and Hyperliquid. Its tools expose funding rates and historical percentiles, open interest, CVD, order-book depth, candles with volume delta, and estimated liquidation totals. Other calls cover volume profiles, large aggressive trades, and changes to resting order-book walls.
Agents can inspect archived market states and examine historical returns following a specified condition. Responses include coverage and freshness details, while historical observations are kept separate from predictions. The service provides market information, not financial advice.
The hosted endpoint uses browser-based OAuth, so an API key is not needed for sign-in. Claude Code requires separate steps to register the server and authenticate. The repository also includes mcp_server.py, a local stdio bridge for Python 3.9+ with no extra dependencies. Tool requests still go to the hosted service, and the bridge does not return market data unless MARKETTRACE_BEARER is set.
What it helps with
- Check funding rates against their historical percentiles
- Track open-interest changes across exchanges
- Compare long and short liquidation estimates
- Locate POC and value-area levels in volume profiles
- Inspect large market orders and pulled order-book walls
Example prompts for the agent
- Show the current BTC market state and assess whether positioning looks stretched.
- Review how open interest changed over the last 3 days.
- Estimate ETH liquidations over the last hour, split between longs and shorts.
