Listspace — Claude Code MCP server: project memory in boards
Wires a Listspace board into your agent as project memory, so it reads tasks and logs decisions as work happens. Useful when a project outlives a single session.
claude mcp add --transport http listspace https://mcp.listspace.appWhat Listspace does
The server hands your agent a Listspace board: it checks what is done, adds items, leaves comments and records decisions. It talks to the REST API at https://api.listspace.app/v1 and the MCP endpoint at https://mcp.listspace.app.
The repo ships a skill under skills/listspace/ with the work loop in SKILL.md and a reference/ folder, a Claude plugin whose .mcp.json registers the remote server, and a Node CLI called listspace for agents that skip MCP. Two hooks come with the plugin. One nudges Claude to log a decision with record_decision when a turn produced none; the other asks for a board update after file edits, commits or a deploy. Both stay quiet in sessions that never touched a Listspace tool, and neither fires twice in one turn.
The hooks need Node.js 18 or newer. Without it they do nothing at all, and Claude reports no hook error. The CLI keeps its token in credentials.json inside the OS config directory, mode 600. If you added the Listspace MCP server by hand earlier, expect two entries after installing the plugin — drop one.
What it helps with
- keep a project board current with what the agent did this session
- log decisions so they survive between sessions
- add a task to the board straight from the chat
- point agents at the right board through
AGENTS.md - reach Listspace from an agent without the MCP server, via the CLI
Example prompts for the agent
- Open the project board and show me what is in progress
- Add an idea called Dark mode to the board, description from settings
- Record the switch to the new parser as a Proposed decision
