What KSail does

KSail brings cluster creation, application deployment, and routine Kubernetes operations together. Its listed options include local and cloud clusters, plus tools such as kubectl, Helm, Kustomize, Flux, and ArgoCD. The MCP server connects KSail with an AI assistant, though the available assistant actions aren’t described here.

In Claude Code, the server runs through Docker. Creating a local cluster also requires a running Docker Engine or Docker Desktop; that step won’t work without one. KSail can also work with cloud providers and existing clusters. Cloud providers need separate setup and may incur charges.

What it helps with

  • create a local Kubernetes cluster
  • initialize a KSail project with a name and provider
  • deploy an application to a Kubernetes cluster
  • connect to a cluster and inspect it with K9s
  • delete a trial cluster and its applications

Example prompts for the agent

  • Initialize the my-app project with the name my-app and Docker as its provider.
  • Create a local cluster for this project, then connect to it.
  • Delete the my-app cluster and its applications using Docker as the provider.
