SigNoz MCP Server — Claude Code MCP server: metrics, traces, logs
Gives your AI assistant access to SigNoz observability data: metrics, traces, logs, alerts and dashboards. Handy when you're chasing an incident without leaving the chat.
claude mcp add signoz-mcp-server -- docker run -i --rm docker.io/signoz/signoz-mcp-server:v0.16.0What SigNoz MCP Server does
The server wires an assistant into SigNoz so you can query observability data in plain language. Metrics, traces, logs, alerts, dashboards and services all come back into the conversation instead of the web UI.
Two ways in. SigNoz Cloud exposes a hosted endpoint at https://mcp.<region>.signoz.cloud/mcp — nothing to install, just add the URL to your client config and finish the auth flow with your instance URL and API key. You create the key under Settings → API Keys, and only Admin users can do that. The other route is self-hosted: a release binary, go install, or the signoz/signoz-mcp-server Docker image. Self-hosted needs a running SigNoz instance.
The region in that URL has to match your SigNoz Cloud account, otherwise authentication fails outright. Find yours under Settings → Ingestion.
What it helps with
- check a service's metrics without opening a browser
- track down a slow trace from a fresh incident
- pull logs for a time window into the chat
- see which alerts are firing right now
- inspect a dashboard and explain its panels
Example prompts for the agent
- Show me metrics for the
checkoutservice over the last hour - Find the slowest traces from today
- Which alerts are currently firing?
