The server wires an AI assistant into the Kernel platform and exposes headless Chromium. An agent can spin up browser sessions, run arbitrary Playwright code, keep JavaScript Browser REPL cells alive with Patchright, Playwright and raw CDP, and capture MP4 replays of a run. It also covers deploying and monitoring Kernel apps, plus documentation search.
The production instance sits at https://mcp.onkernel.com/mcp, so there is no install step. Access goes through OAuth 2.0 with Clerk. On connect you either grant organization-wide access or pin the tokens to a single Kernel project. A project-scoped token cannot hop between projects, so pick organization-wide if your work spans several.
Clients that cannot speak remote MCP fall back to stdio with npx -y mcp-remote https://mcp.onkernel.com/mcp. The Kernel CLI is the quick route: kernel mcp install --target <target>, with targets such as cursor, claude-code, vscode, windsurf, zed, goose and fx. In Claude, run /mcp once in the REPL after adding the server to finish authentication.
