What hjarni does

Hjarni links your Markdown knowledge base to coding agents via a hosted endpoint at https://hjarni.com/mcp. The service uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, so you skip API keys and local Docker setups.

The server supplies tools to query, update, and create notes, manage folder hierarchies, and inspect version history. It allows configuring custom instructions per folder and handling bidirectional note links.

Your client must support streaming HTTP transport to connect.

What it helps with

  • store project decisions directly into organized Markdown notes
  • query prior context across folders using full-text search
  • assign custom agent directives to designated folders
  • restore earlier revisions of edited documents

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search my notes for previous decisions regarding the database schema.
  • Save this discussion into my project folder and tag it with backend.
  • Show the revision history for our deployment setup document.
