What Heard does

The server connects cloud-based agents to the Heard app on your Mac. Agents send short updates with heard_report — working, done, needs input, failed — and Heard reads them aloud, named after the agent. You can reply by holding right ⌘, saying the agent's name and your message; the agent retrieves it via heard_inbox and confirms pickup with heard_inbox_ack.

It's a hosted server at https://api.heard.dev/v1/mcp/agent. Nothing to install on the agent side. Connection works via OAuth (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok Bot, Codex) or token (Meta Muse, Devin, Manus, GitHub Copilot). Requires the Heard app for macOS with an active account; voice replies require a Heard Power subscription. Updates stay for a week, voice inbox messages get removed after a month if the agent doesn't retrieve them.

What it helps with

  • hear progress updates from cloud agents on your Mac
  • reply to agent questions by voice without switching context
  • get notified when an agent waits for your decision
  • coordinate multiple agents from one app

Example prompts for the agent
