GuruWalk Affiliates — Claude Code MCP server: tours and bookings
Wires the GuruWalk free walking tour catalog into your agent: find tours by city, category or date, and get booking links that carry your affiliate ref.
claude mcp add --transport http guruwalk-affiliates https://back.guruwalk.com/mcp/affiliatesWhat GuruWalk Affiliates does
Three tools ship with the server. discover_destination looks up a city and returns its categories plus a page of featured tours. browse_category takes a category id and lists the tours inside it. check_availability takes a tour id and a date range, then returns the time slots. Tour names and descriptions come back in the language you ask for: en, es, de or it.
The transport is Streamable HTTP in stateless mode, so nothing carries over between calls. Set that in your client config — stateless: true or the equivalent. No valid key means 401 Unauthorized on every request, so get one before you connect. Send it as Authorization: Bearer <api_key> or as Api-Key: <api_key>.
Every url and booking_url in a response already carries ?ref=<username>, which is how bookings from your agent get credited to your account. Strip or edit those parameters and the attribution is gone. On the client side, any MCP-compatible library works: mcp for Python, @modelcontextprotocol/sdk for TypeScript.
What it helps with
- find free walking tours in a city by name
- list the tours inside one category with ratings and images
- check which dates a given tour still has open slots
- hand a client a booking link that carries your affiliate
ref - fold tour suggestions into a travel assistant conversation
Example prompts for the agent
- Find free walking tours in Barcelona in English and show me the categories
- List every tour in category id 5
- Check which slots tour 101 has between June 10 and June 12
