Hub-Equity MCP — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Delivers normalized SEC and ESEF XBRL financials to AI agents. Bridges US-GAAP and IFRS concepts under a single standardized vocabulary.
claude mcp add hub-equity-mcp -e HUBEQUITY_API_KEY=<HUBEQUITY_API_KEY> -- uvx hub-equity-mcpWhat Hub-Equity MCP does
This server connects coding assistants to the Hub-Equity public REST API, pulling normalized accounting metrics from US SEC EDGAR and European ESEF filings. It aligns disparate taxonomy concepts into unified codes like REVENUE or TOTAL_ASSETS. Every returned data point includes direct filing metadata and reporting period details.
The server offers read-only tools including find_entity to look up identifiers, get_fact for individual data points, get_metric_history for growth rates, and get_silent_restatements to catch restated figures across subsequent filings. Free API keys grant entry-level tools, while peer comparisons and calculation breakdowns require a paid tier.
The process requires Python 3.12 or newer. Calls fail immediately unless HUBEQUITY_API_KEY is exported in the client configuration.
What it helps with
- compare cross-border financials across SEC and European ESEF filings
- track silent accounting restatements across subsequent filing periods
- retrieve multi-year growth rates and compound annual metrics
- resolve company identifiers from a ticker, legal name, or CIK
Example prompts for the agent
- Look up total revenue and operating income for Apple across the last three years.
- Check if this issuer has any silent restatements in recent filings.
- Find the entity identifier for ticker MSFT and show its metric history.
