genpark-financial-audit — Claude Code MCP server: check the math

Runs arithmetic consistency checks on financial statement figures you supply, including a simplified income-statement model.

Open on GitHub

What genpark-financial-audit does

Feed it numbers you already have and it cross-checks them: whether balance-sheet totals agree with their parts, whether the simplified income-statement model holds, whether subtotals survive a cross-footing pass. It does not pull figures out of PDFs, does not judge whether a source is genuine, and issues no audit opinion. Arithmetic only.

Under the hood there is a Python library plus a stdio server, with no runtime dependencies. Python 3.9 or newer is required. Keep every monetary value in one unit: the default tolerance is 0.5 of that unit, so mixing currencies will throw the checks off. Four tools ship with it — audit_balance_sheet, audit_income_statement, audit_cross_footing and run_benchmark_financial_audit. Call tools/list to see required arguments and JSON schemas. State lives per MCP process, and benchmark runs use isolated instances.

Install comes from the wheel attached to the GitHub release. PyPI publication is still pending, so pip install genpark-financial-audit will not work yet — do not count on that name. The release also carries a .mcpb bundle for clients that support desktop extensions, and it still needs a Python 3.9+ interpreter on PATH.

What it helps with

  • check balance-sheet totals against line items
  • catch a mismatch in the simplified income-statement model
  • re-add subtotals with a cross-footing pass
  • run the benchmark on isolated instances
  • hand an agent the argument schemas via tools/list

Example prompts for the agent

  • Audit the balance sheet in balance.json with audit_balance_sheet
  • Cross-check the income statement: figures in thousands, tolerance 0.5
  • Run audit_cross_footing over the subtotals

Questions about genpark-financial-audit

How do I install genpark-financial-audit in Claude Code?

Install the wheel from the GitHub release first: `python -m pip install https://github.com/Alpha-Park/genpark-complex-financial-formula-audit-validator-skill/releases/download/v1.0.1/genpark_financial_audit-1.0.1-py3-none-any.whl. Then add an MCP client entry with the command genpark-financial-audit` and an empty args list.

What does genpark-financial-audit do?

It checks whether the financial figures you supply add up, and validates a simplified income-statement model. It does not extract data from PDFs or give an audit opinion.

What does the server need to run?

Python 3.9 or newer. The library and the stdio server have no runtime dependencies; the .mcpb bundle needs a Python 3.9+ interpreter on PATH.
