gate402 merchant checkout — Claude Code MCP server: x402 payments
Wires your agent into the hosted Ogena gate402 API to issue payment terms and confirm a charge. Verification is free; each checkout costs $0.01.
claude mcp add --transport http gate402-x402 https://api.ogenalabs.com/api/gate402/mcpWhat gate402 merchant checkout does
gate402-mcp is a public adapter for the Ogena gate402 x402 checkout API. Through MCP tools an agent can set the terms of a sale and then check whether the payment landed. The live endpoint sits at https://api.ogenalabs.com/api/gate402; verifying a payment costs nothing, while every checkout is billed at $0.01.
The repo holds tool schemas and docs only. adapter/ is the stdio adapter with tool definitions for registry scoring, docs/ carries the explanation, skill and manifests. Execution runs on the Ogena host, so there is no product logic to read here. A demo storefront at https://api.ogenalabs.com/api/gate402/demo lets you walk the flow before pointing it at a real shop.
Transport is HTTP and no API key is involved — billing for a checkout goes through the service itself. If your shop already takes payments some other way, that second channel stays separate: gate402 covers issuing terms and verifying a charge, nothing else.
What it helps with
- issue payment terms to a buyer from the agent
- confirm an x402 charge actually went through
- rehearse the checkout flow on the demo storefront
- add payment intake to an agent without running your own backend
- track what each checkout costs
Example prompts for the agent
- Issue gate402 payment terms for order 1042
- Check whether the latest checkout was paid
- Show me what the gate402 demo storefront looks like
