catalogapi — Claude Code MCP server: reward coverage by country
A public MCP server for CatalogAPI that lets your assistant answer reward-coverage and catalog questions from live data, with no key and no signup.
claude mcp add --transport http catalogapi https://api.catalogapi.com/mcpWhat catalogapi does
Point your client at https://api.catalogapi.com/mcp and the assistant gets four tools. check_coverage lists which countries are supported and what categories each one carries. search_rewards pulls sample items from a demonstration catalog for a single country. get_reward_details returns detail on one item, and how_it_works covers the service itself: coverage, fulfillment, pricing, integration.
Every tool is read-only. Nothing is exposed beyond what already sits in the public browse area at api.catalogapi.com/browse. There is no API key to obtain and no signup step.
One caveat matters. search_rewards gives examples rather than live inventory, and it omits pricing. For a firm answer on what a country supports, call check_coverage — when the two disagree, that one wins. The repository also ships a Postman collection for the REST API, covering cart, catalog and order requests along with a sandbox. Its apiKey field starts empty; you create a sandbox key in your dashboard after registering.
What it helps with
- find out which countries reward coverage reaches
- browse sample catalog items for one country
- pull details on a single catalog item
- understand how a reward reaches its recipient
- work out what a catalog price actually represents
Example prompts for the agent
- What rewards are available in Germany?
- How does a reward reach the recipient?

Questions about catalogapi
How do I install catalogapi in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http catalogapi https://api.catalogapi.com/mcp.
What does catalogapi do?
It hands your assistant CatalogAPI data: country coverage, sample catalog items, detail on individual items, and answers about how the service works.
How is search_rewards different from check_coverage?
search_rewards returns examples from a demonstration catalog and no pricing. check_coverage is the authoritative source for countries and categories — trust it if the two ever conflict.
