fetchpet — Claude Code MCP server: Fetch Pet insurance claims
Automates Fetch Pet insurance claim workflows: submission, status tracking, EOB and invoice downloads via browser automation.
claude mcp add --env FETCHPET_USERNAME=<FETCHPET_USERNAME> --env FETCHPET_PASSWORD=<FETCHPET_PASSWORD> --env HEADLESS=<HEADLESS> --env TIMEOUT=<TIMEOUT> --env FETCHPET_DOWNLOAD_DIR=<FETCHPET_DOWNLOAD_DIR> --transport stdio fetchpet -- npx -y fetchpet-mcp-serverWhat fetchpet does
The server launches a Playwright session, logs into your Fetch Pet account, and keeps it active. Four tools: prepare_claim_to_submit fills and validates the claim form, submit_claim sends it after user confirmation, get_claims lists all claims (active and completed), get_claim_details retrieves specifics and downloads EOB or invoices. Two-step submission with a confirmation token prevents accidental filing.
Requires Node.js 18 or later and Fetch Pet credentials via FETCHPET_USERNAME and FETCHPET_PASSWORD variables. Browser automation may break if the insurance site updates; page navigation takes time.
What it helps with
- file a pet insurance claim with invoice data
- check status of active and past claims in one call
- download EOB and invoice documents for a claim
- fill out claim form with validation before sending
- retrieve claim details with attached documents
Example prompts for the agent
- File a claim for Buddy's checkup at Test Vet Clinic, invoice $150 dated January 15
- Show my active insurance claims
- Download the EOB for claim ABC123

Questions about fetchpet
How to install fetchpet in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add fetchpet -e FETCHPET_USERNAME=<FETCHPET_USERNAME> -e FETCHPET_PASSWORD=<FETCHPET_PASSWORD> -- npx -y fetchpet-mcp-server with your Fetch Pet credentials in place of the placeholders, then restart Claude Desktop.
What does fetchpet do?
Automates Fetch Pet insurance claim operations: fills forms, submits after confirmation, shows status of all claims, downloads EOB and invoices. Runs through a Playwright browser session.
Why does claim submission require a confirmation token?
The prepare_claim_to_submit tool fills the form and returns a token; submit_claim needs that token to proceed. Without the correct token, the claim will not go through, preventing accidental submissions.
