easyeda-mcp-pro — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects EasyEDA Pro to AI clients for PCB layout inspection, circuit rule checks, and fabrication export. Helpful for hardware reviews and sourcing components across suppliers.
claude mcp add easyeda-mcp-pro -e BRIDGE_TOKEN=<BRIDGE_TOKEN> -e AI_API_KEY=<AI_API_KEY> -e JLCPCB_CLIENT_SECRET=<JLCPCB_CLIENT_SECRET> -e LCSC_API_KEY=<LCSC_API_KEY> -e MOUSER_API_KEY=<MOUSER_API_KEY> -e DIGIKEY_CLIENT_SECRET=<DIGIKEY_CLIENT_SECRET> -- npx -y easyeda-mcp-proWhat easyeda-mcp-pro does
The server bridges AI assistants with EasyEDA Pro over a local WebSocket connection. It relies on an editor plugin, easyeda-bridge-extension.eext, imported via the built-in Extension Manager. Without this bridge running in EasyEDA Pro, the MCP server cannot interact with your project.
Inside, it provides up to 120 profile-gated tools for hardware workflows. The system inspects PCB stackups, checks netlists, and runs DRC or ERC rules. It also handles exports for board manufacturing, including Gerber archives and component placement files.
Component sourcing connects directly to supplier APIs such as JLCPCB, LCSC, Mouser, and DigiKey. The codebase uses the source-available PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 license, and development is pinned to Node.js 24.
What it helps with
- run DRC and ERC design rule checks
- generate and validate bill of materials tables
- export Gerber and Pick and Place fabrication packages
- source electronic parts through JLCPCB, LCSC, Mouser, and DigiKey
- inspect PCB stackup, layers, and netlist structures
Example prompts for the agent
- Inspect the active PCB in EasyEDA Pro and run DRC validation
- Generate a bill of materials and check component stock via LCSC and Mouser
- Export Gerber and Pick and Place files for the open board
