What dynatrace-managed-mcp does

The server lets an assistant query one or more Dynatrace Managed environments. It can search logs by content and time, retrieve event and problem details, inspect vulnerabilities and entity relationships, check SLO evaluations, and analyze metrics through the V2 Metrics API. Queries can be phrased in natural language.

Choose local mode for development and testing, or remote mode over HTTP/SSE. A local setup needs a Dynatrace Managed API token with the required permissions, environment configuration, and DT_ENVIRONMENT_CONFIGS. The README also describes dt-config.yaml or dt-config.json paired with DT_CONFIG_FILE. This server targets self-hosted Dynatrace Managed; Dynatrace SaaS requires a different MCP server.

What it helps with

  • search logs within a chosen time range
  • retrieve details for a problem or vulnerability
  • inspect system events in an environment
  • trace relationships between monitored entities
  • analyze performance metrics and SLO evaluations

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search Dynatrace Managed logs for errors during this period and group the results by content.
  • Show the details of this problem and its related events in Dynatrace Managed.
  • Analyze the performance metrics and SLO evaluation for this environment.
