demo.st — Claude Code MCP server: publish prototypes
Reserves a subdomain, takes a .zip from your agent and hands back a live link like yourproject.demo.st. Built for prototypes that need a URL fast.
claude mcp add --transport http demost https://demo.st/mcpWhat demo.st does
demo.st is a stage for vibe-coded prototypes. Your agent talks to it over MCP: claim a subdomain, push the site archive, get an address that already serves something. Hosting is static only — Nginx, no PHP, no databases. A prototype that needs stateful backend work will not run here.
Five tools ship with the server. check_subdomain_availability needs no token and just reports whether a name is free. The other four — reserve_subdomain, upload_site, clear_site, release_subdomain — expect a Bearer token. Uploads accept either zip_base64, which is the easier route for an agent, or file_url pointing at a public archive. clear_site wipes the deployed content while the subdomain stays yours; only release_subdomain gives the name back.
Grab the token from your demo.st account: sign in, open the token page or the MCP page, copy the value. Then set DEMO_ST_MCP_TOKEN — $env: in PowerShell, export on macOS and Linux, or a line in .bashrc / .zshrc. Reload the editor window afterwards, otherwise the agent will not see the tools.
What it helps with
- put a built prototype online without touching hosting config
- claim a free subdomain before a client call
- let the agent publish a site from inside the chat
- wipe old content but keep the same address
- check whether a name is taken before signing up
Example prompts for the agent
- Check if the subdomain
myappis free and reserve it if it is - Upload
dist.zipas the site content and send me the link - Clear the deployed content but keep the subdomain reserved

Run claude mcp add --transport http demost https://demo.st/mcp. Then set DEMO_ST_MCP_TOKEN and restart Claude.
What does demo.st do?
It gives your agent tools for publishing static prototypes: check and reserve a subdomain, upload a .zip, clear the content, release the address.
What do I need before using demo.st?
A demo.st account and a Bearer token in DEMO_ST_MCP_TOKEN. Without the token only the subdomain availability check works.
