CoralSwarm Connect — Claude Code MCP server: install guide
This MCP server stores coding context, decisions, and sessions in CoralSwarm, then lets an agent retrieve them. It fits work that continues across sessions.
claude mcp add --transport http coralswarm https://api.coralswarm.com/mcpWhat CoralSwarm Connect does
CoralSwarm Connect exposes CoralSwarm tools such as list_oceans, recent_activity, ask_ocean, search_atoms, get_reef, and add_context. An agent can search saved material, choose a personal or organization workspace, and write new context to it.
The plugin declares the MCP server, bundles a skill, and runs hooks for SessionStart, UserPromptSubmit, PreCompact, Stop, and PostToolUse. These hooks prompt mid-session saves, flush pending work before compaction, and record add_context activity for recovery. Sign-in uses OAuth through /mcp; there is no API key to paste.
Use the exact server URL https://api.coralswarm.com/mcp, since Cursor rejects a resource with a different protected-resource address. Enabling two plugin copies causes SessionStart to fire twice. That is a configuration conflict worth avoiding.
What it helps with
- save session decisions to CoralSwarm
- search earlier project context
- switch between personal and organization workspaces
- recover context after a crashed session
Example prompts for the agent
- Save this milestone with
add_contextand include the current Git branch. - Search CoralSwarm for prior decisions related to this error with
search_atoms. - Call
list_tenants, then useselect_tenantfor the organization workspace.

Questions about CoralSwarm Connect
How do I install CoralSwarm Connect in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http coralswarm https://api.coralswarm.com/mcp, then run claude mcp add --transport http coralswarm-connect https://api.coralswarm.com/mcp. Open /mcp afterward and complete OAuth for the coralswarm server.
What does CoralSwarm Connect do?
It connects CoralSwarm tools to the coding agent and captures work during a session through hooks. The bundled skill starts when you say “onboard coralswarm”.
Does CoralSwarm Connect require an API key?
No. Authentication runs through OAuth in /mcp, so you do not paste a key or add one to a config file.
