Cooper Email — Claude Code MCP server: email for agents
Gives an agent its own cooperemail.com address: send, receive, search, and owner-approved drafts over email.
claude mcp add --transport http cooper-email https://cooperemail.com/mcpWhat Cooper Email does
Cooper Email hands an agent a mailbox like [email protected]. A single API call sets up the account, the inbox and a key, so there is no dashboard step. From there the agent sends and reads mail: plain text, HTML, attachments, threads, search. Retries stay safe through the client_id idempotency key.
The repository holds the open-source client side: TypeScript and Python SDKs, packages for LangChain, the Vercel AI SDK, Mastra, Anthropic and OpenAI Agents, plus skills and MCP client configs. The hosted server runs at https://cooperemail.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. First use signs you in with OAuth, so a key in the config is optional.
A human can stay in the loop. The owner confirms each send by email, and their replies arrive as tasks carrying SPF, DKIM and DMARC results plus a verified_owner flag. Webhooks for message.received, message.sent, task.received and owner.reply are signed with HMAC-SHA256 in the x-cooper-signature header. The cooper-email npm package is not published yet, so setup goes through the hosted server and the skills in this repo.
What it helps with
- give an agent a mailbox without manual setup
- read incoming mail and find messages by search
- hold a draft until the owner approves the send
- get a signed webhook when new mail lands
- reply to the owner in-thread and pull the answer back as a task
Example prompts for the agent
- Create an inbox for the agent and send a welcome email to
[email protected] - Search the inbox for unread mail from today and sort it by topic
- Email the owner a draft reply and wait for approval before sending
