Compoid MCP — Claude Code MCP server: durable agent memory
Gives an agent a workspace shared with people: it looks up project context there and writes results back. Useful when work spans many sessions.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-server https://mcpv.compoid.com/mcpWhat Compoid MCP does
Compoid MCP is a remote server at https://mcpv.compoid.com/mcp. An agent can search records and communities, narrowing by title, description, keywords, dates, resource type or access level, read the metadata, create and update records, pull open-access items as a zip and push files through a data URI. Communities are editable too: create them, adjust curation and access policies, walk their collection trees.
Memory here is structured rather than a chat log. A record carries a title, description, keywords, up to five subjects, a resource type and provenance; edits mint new versions while the earlier history stays. Two shapes fit most work: one community per project, where the agent drops decisions and plans, or the default community as standing personal memory for preferences and notes.
You need a Compoid account and a repository key, sent in the X-Compoid-Repo-Key header. Without it the server will not answer. A local route exists as well: the compoid-mcp package installs from PyPI, and the config then carries variables such as COMPOID_REPO_API_KEY and DOWNLOAD_PATH.
What it helps with
- restore project context in a fresh agent session
- hand work over from one agent to another
- locate a record by type, date or creator
- download open-access material as an archive
- keep sensitive notes out of the public index
Example prompts for the agent
- Search my community for records about the auth scheme and summarise what was decided
- Write the caching decision into the project community and add keywords
- Create a community for the new project and add the first note
