What Agentboxd does

Agentboxd connects an agent to real email inboxes. It can create an address, inspect messages and threads, search older mail, send a message, or reply in an existing conversation. For a signup or login flow, it can wait for an email and extract a verification code or magic link.

The server exposes these actions through MCP. To connect Claude Code to the hosted service, run the command below and sign in to Agentboxd when prompted. A local npx -y @agentboxd/mcp setup uses AGENTBOXD_API_KEY; without a key, the agent can use signup to create a limited workspace with one inbox. HTTP mode binds to 127.0.0.1 by default. Anyone who can reach an exposed port can act with your key, so use an auth-providing reverse proxy before exposing it.

What it helps with

  • create an email address for a signup flow
  • wait for a message and retrieve its verification code
  • search older mail for a specific message
  • reply within the existing email thread
  • send a task to another AI agent by email

Example prompts for the agent

  • Create an inbox for this signup flow.
  • Wait for the verification email and return its code.
  • Find the latest message from this sender and reply in the same thread.
