10ML Perfume Finder — Claude Code MCP server: scents and notes
Gives your agent a fragrance database of 5,400+ perfumes and 285 notes: similar scents, side-by-side comparison, occasion picks. Handy for anything scent-related.
claude mcp add --transport http perfume-finder https://mcp.10ml.com/mcpWhat 10ML Perfume Finder does
The server speaks Streamable HTTP at a single address, https://mcp.10ml.com/mcp. No sign-in, no API key, read-only. Fifteen tools sit behind it. search_perfumes matches on name, house, notes, accords and family, get_perfume returns the note pyramid plus five similar scents, and compare_perfumes lines up two to four bottles and shows which notes they share and which they do not.
Other calls cover everyday questions: find_gift builds a present from what someone likes, suggest_layering says what to spray with what, pick_for_occasion narrows by season and setting. Six prompts ship alongside, among them find_signature_scent and build_fragrance_wardrobe. Every tool takes locale for links and labels — en, de, fr, es, it, ro, el, hu, cs, pl.
Clients that launch local processes can run the same server over stdio: npx -y @10ml/perfume-finder-mcp on Node.js 18+, or uvx perfume-finder-mcp on Python 3.10+. The names iconic_perfumes and trending_perfumes still answer as aliases for older integrations, though they no longer appear in the tool list — if your setup calls them, move to search_perfumes with iconic: true.
What it helps with
- find a scent close to a favourite but fresher
- compare two perfumes by shared and unique notes
- explain what ambroxan smells like and where it leads
- pick a gift from someone's taste
- get layering ideas for vanilla and citrus
Example prompts for the agent
- Find a fresh summer office scent for men and explain why each one fits
- Compare two perfumes by their note pyramids and tell me what they share
