Commission— what it means in affiliate marketing
The cut an intermediary keeps — a CPA network, a payment provider, an agency reselling ad accounts.
In affiliate marketing the word runs both ways: the advertiser calls the affiliate payout a commission, and the affiliate calls the network margin one. When a payout is quoted without saying which side the commission sits on, the number means nothing.
