video-toolkit — Claude Code skill: AI-powered video generation
Automates video creation: generates voiceovers, background music, animates talking heads, and composes scenes with Remotion. Requires Node.js, Python3, ffmpeg, and cloud GPU access (Modal or RunPod).

This skill turns a text brief into a finished video in stages. You define scenes in a config file, write voiceover scripts per scene, and the toolkit generates audio via Qwen3 TTS, background music, images, and animates characters through SadTalker. Remotion (a React framework) handles composition and renders the output.
Setup deploys several functions to Modal: TTS, image generation (Flux2), music generation, talking head animation, and others. Each function has its own endpoint, which you add to .env. Installation verifies your environment, installs Python dependencies with --break-system-packages (for Debian/Ubuntu), and deploys modules to Modal. After that, you generate assets per scene: background music once, voiceovers for each scene as separate files.
Main constraints: macOS and Linux only. Requires four binaries (node, python3, ffmpeg, npm) and paid Modal access (though $30/month free tier exists; a 60-second video costs roughly $1–3).
What it helps with
- generate voiceovers in multiple languages and voice styles
- create background music tailored to video topic
- animate a talking head in a character style
- compose marketing or demo video from scene templates
- render video using React components and Remotion
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate a product demo video: write a config with scenes (title, problem, solution, CTA), voiceover text, and create all assets for each scene
- Create English voiceover with a warm tone in Ryan's voice for 4 scenes, 10 seconds each
- Generate corporate background music 90 seconds long and render the video through Remotion
